NEAL VAUGHAN: contemporary art
I use a range of work in part of sequences of videos for music events and short films. The process is really collaging filmed and found images, spoken word and music together.. The process often means many different versions that are amalgamated together to form one piece. So the resulting videos can be viewed in short sections or long films and are always a reaction to the music and words I am given.
Short Films
These recent short films are, mainly, based on 'The River' film project. Released in 2026, 'The River' combines spoken word, animation and shot footage of the River Wandle.
Installation Work
These films are from recent installation works, projected in time to and as a raction to music. n 2026, 'I work with musicians such as The Machines of Loving Grace UK and classical cellist Liz Andrews. These projected films are in collaboration with these musicians. I work in a collaborative way, where I am fed the music prior to the live performance, but then video mix live at the event. This helps me to respond closer the the music and its patterns.
